Our procedures

Here at Northgate Endodontics, we specialize in providing Endodontic treatment using the latest technology in a relaxed environment. With today’s technology, root canal treatment is usually completed in one or two appointments and is similar to a routine dental procedure. The recovery is fast and most patients return to their normal activity the same day or next.

Root Canal Treatment (RCT)

Tooth DiagramWe perform Root Canal Procedures to preserve the natural tooth, if possible. Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp (nerves and blood vessels) of the tooth becomes infected or inflamed. If the inflammation or infection of the pulp is not treated, it could cause pain or develop into an abscess.

Root Canal Treatment removes the infected or inflamed pulp and after cleaning of the root canal space, a filling is placed inside the roots. Your dentist will place a permanent filling or a crown over the tooth for protection, restoring it to its full function. Treated teeth can last as long as other natural teeth with proper care.

Endodontic Retreatment

We also specialize in Root Canal Retreatment. Retreatments are recommended when the initial RCT becomes re-infected or for other reasons fails.

Endodontic Surgery

Endodontic surgery is another service we provide when non-surgical root canal treatment alone does not take care of the tooth problem. Endodontic surgery takes care of teeth with non-negotiable canals due to calcification or other blockages. During surgical procedures, we can also detect small fractures on the root and clean out the infection at the end of the root.

Traumatic Dental Injury Treatment

Our team also takes care of Dental Trauma patients. Dental Trauma occurs as a result of a fall, accident, or sports-related injuries. It’s important to have traumatic dental injuries evaluated promptly by your Dentist or an Endodontist. Treatment for dental trauma varies depending on the severity of the trauma. We are available to see you as promptly as possible to treat your, or your child’s, traumatized tooth for a timely treatment.
